biglew did ya feel a weight difference with the new stock? I put the ATI Strikeforce pkg on mine and it got heavy

AR - 15 or Ruger mini??

I have both. A Spikes Lower with a BCM upper and a Mini Tactical 580 series. The Mini shoots as accurate as my AR. AR wins for accessories, Mini wins for maintenance. I would not feel under gunned with either.
This stock shaved a little of the weight off, not enough to make a real difference though.
I love the design of the Mini. It's simple, low maintenance, and very reliable. It ain't accurate worth a damn though. I wish they were. I've owned a bunch of Mini 14's and nary a one would hold a candle to the AR. I've had and shot more than a few M1A's that are great. I don't understand how these two can be so similar in design, and so far apart in accuracy. My vote goes to the AR.

The mini-14 is basically a M1 Garand design scaled down to 223 Remington. The AR has more modularity and ways to switch out calibers. Don't get me wrong the Mini-14 is a cool gun, but I would rather have an actual M1 Garand or an M1A.
I found out yesterday my AR don't like reloads very well.
mini 14s are great rifles but id still go with the ar-15. Just something about it that really makes me feel comfortable.

I guess the accuracy of the Mini 14 is in question here. I have a 581 series and have not problems with hitting the target. Now, it is not as precise as the AR, but I hit it everytime. I jsut don't think you can shoot chuckdog!!! haha
