Kind of long story but here goes. A few years ago, at one of their Veterans Day giveaways, I won a free barrel from Bear Creek Arsenal, and I selected a Stainless Steel one. It laid in my closet for months.I'd love to know more about that bottom one!!!
Very Slick! Nice to see stuff that is out of the norm.Kind of long story but here goes. A few years ago, at one of their Veterans Day giveaways, I won a free barrel from Bear Creek Arsenal, and I selected a Stainless Steel one. It laid in my closet for months.
I attended the NRA convention and exposition when it came to Atlanta a few months later. Walking around looking at all the booths, I saw an exhibit of wooden furniture for AR and at about the same moment, I thought of that SS barrel laying in the closet. I thought that it would be quite different to have a stainless AR with walnut furniture and the idea was born. I stopped and talked with the guy running that exhibit, he said he was the brother of the man who owned Boyds Gunstocks, I took his card and when I could afford it, I bought a set of the furniture.
Since I already had all of parts for a build, except the furniture, I sent those parts to someone and had them all cerakoted silver which was cheaper than buying stainless steel parts. The Walnut furniture cost more than the rest of the rifle, including cerakote job!
