Was gonna say an older used Colt would definitely work, but if you want something new, there's been a bunch listed that would work depending on budget

Colt Expanse CE1000 (no dust cover and operable forward assist) and the CE2000 with the dust cover and operable forward assist. Not all parts were made by Colt. Years ago, a member traded me one of these where at the time I was/am very AR naive and thought I was getting a fully built Colt by Colt.
No. Lol there are no participation trophies here.
I will say I shoot my Lmt's more than anything, but their QC lately has been lackluster on fit and finish. They run through everything I've put them through. If you look at my past postings, I've bought and sold a lot of guns, but the Lmt spec war has not moved.
That's the Colt Expanse model. Some had the LE serial number, M4 Carbine lowers.
Also, worth owning-
Colt ( holds value) and is the middle tier standard that all AR are measured against.
SOLGW and Daniel Defense are great. DD being my personal choice and GA based.
LMT, Geissele, KAC, BCM, and Centurion are all great choices too. KAC being high tier and $$$$ with BCM being a great mid tier guns.
