Are you all supporting the NRA?

I am a NRA member and have been for decades and will be until I am dead (Life Member). That said, I feel that the NRA is the largest lobbying organization representing shooters in the world and does everything they can to promote shooting, shooters rights and adherence to the 2nd Amendment, period. I know there are lots of *****ing and whining about the executives spending, but that is a simple problem that could/should have been covered by the board of directors if it was a problem. Think about it, the NRA has 4+ million members so their annual budget must be $40 million at least, so their executives should look good in public. If you have to lecture some know nothing legislature, I think you need to look the part.
Regarding them "giving up" our rights I think there are times when you just have to graciously have to submit to the will if the forces that be. I didn't like Pierre giving it to the bump stock historian, but it was already a fait complex, and pissing and moaning would not have changed the outcome.JMHO

How much does Wayne pay you? Maybe a couple weekends a month in the palace with his intern?

Seems to be some differing opinions on here lately regarding the NRA. As you can see in my signature line, I'm a member of a few orgs, but not the NRA. The recent fraudulent use of funds is a bit off-putting. Thought I would start a discussion as to whether or not they are actually fighting for our 2A rights. Opinions are okay. But conclusions supported by why are appreciated.
G, I'm ticked off at old Wayne, too. Gun clubs I belong to require their members to hold NRA membership, so no choice for me. I used to be proud of the NRA. I miss Oliver North. Happy trails and may God bless America.

They will never recover from Trump's ridiculing senators and congressmen for "being afraid" of the NRA and by their retreat from their headquarters for over 140 years. That by itself shows how toothless the org is. They can't defend themselves from attack in their home state for God's sake. I used to say I'd support them if they fired most of the BoD and LaPierre but now? The org is dead to me forever.
What he said ^^^^^
I’ve never signed up to them because I just can see them taking side with the wrong crowd. Just a bunch of lobbyists taking care of their pockets.

We had a sunset on the Clinton gun ban, no confiscation or national daconian gun bans from 1994 until..... If there wasn't a unified voice for gun owners the Schumer's and Pelosi's would have taken the guns away decades ago. We have the 2 and Amendment, but it is the NRA that is the one who brings the cases to the courts. All these other gun rights groups are fine and good, but that NRA is the big dog in the fight. Read there bulletins, they are fighting for gun owners rights in all 50 states. Don't get me wrong, they are not perfect, but they are the biggest, strongest and most persuasive gun rights organization in the world. There are a lot of legislators that don't like they NRA, but they don't cross them because they know that the NRA can mobilize millions of voters when it comes to gun issues. Supporting the, NRA is just a form of insurance aimed at anti-gun forces.

You are wrong. "but it is the NRA that is the one who brings the cases to the courts." The NRA rarely brings cases to courts and actively discourages others from doing the same. The NRA will only take a case to court if it is a slam dunk. The NRA was against the recalls in Colorado over gun laws. The NRA told the Colorado organizers they would help but in the end provided no help . The republican party would not help recall 2 democrats either. The NRA claimed victory in the recall of 2 Colorado politicians. The NRA will jump in and claim victory when gun cases are won even though they have done nothing. Heller is a good example. I am friends with a lawyer who has been actively fighting for our gun rights nationwide. He has tried to work with the NRA but they are not interested. https://gunfreedomradio.com/guests/stephen-stamboulieh/

This is a much more accurate picture of what the NRA does. They'll have their legal team look at a case that's been brought by another org or individual(s) and if, and only if it seems as though they may be successful, the NRA will at most file an amicus curiae brief. When the case is decided in favor of the 2A plaintiff(s), the NRA will publish $5 million in ad slicks claiming victory, hoping to generate $20 million in new donations from the Fudd community (same type of folks that send the "IRS" Walmart gift cards to settle a telephone claim from South Carolina that a warrant has been issued by the IRS for your arrest if you don't pay).

Yea, I've been on the fence about the NRA also, so I'm not surprised to read these responses. It's a shame to see what it has turned into over the years.
