Another option that is in the 74 realm is the 5.56 AK. I loved my SLR-106FR, 106U, and SAM5 when I owned them. Mags are pricey, but counter that with plentiful ammo versus 5.45.

The Gray one is a Factory Arsenal 104ur SBR that had to have a decent amount of work to get right.
Here is a pic of the now gray one right after I purchased several years ago.
I have more 74 projects (collecting parts) planned for the future.
As far as Arsenals being worth it... They're hit or miss.
