Asking ODT for help identifying this gun...

I took this gun on the back end of a larger trade and can not find any information about it. Clearly someone made a terrible decision in trying to "Clean" it. I am just trying to figure out what I have....

SO, alas, I am here asking my ODT's friends for some help. I took as many photos and of ALL MARKINGS on the gun...

So.... What do you think?

Thanks guys... It appears to be a great paper weight... Although the action is pretty tight, I do not believe I will be shooting this one...

The "R" with Crown is " E. German, Suhl repair proof"

all other indicators I can find is that it may be a Belgian 44
