How many folks want one and how many are Class III select fire weapons are there, even if they could afford the horrific cost of one there are not enough to go around...... That is denial! Far too many support this cause. Even Michael Moore gave $25.
This is why some even go so far as to become dealers so they can have "demo guns" ...the whole system is outrageous.
On the bright side some seem to think even if we loose we win something, the whole discussion can be found on ar15.com starting around page 90
Do you see what you did there? If that argument stands firm, then that means a trust IS a person, and that means there is no NICS check required when an FFL transfers a firearm to a trustee of a trust. The determination that a trust is not a person, and therefore a trustee needs a NICS check is what started this. So if the inverse holds true (your arguement) throws the entire system into chaos and possibly opens the door to throwing out 922/NFA entirely.
The beauty of Nolo's argument is that if he wins...we get MG's via the trust route. If he looses, then he just invalidates half of the basis that 922/NFA is built on and the hard decision has to be made to throw the poorly worded law out. It is quite ingenious.
For your viewing- the "vote" that started all this
