I suppose that buying one new will depend on the companies being in business to sell them. There was a lawsuit between the two companies that made them. Also ATF seized all of the FRTs. Paperwork would need to be filed to get them returned. The vacatur should mean that you can buy and sell them as you would any other semi-auto trigger, but maybe there's an attorney or two on here that could advise us. Here is a link to the court docs:

In short- federal judge told atf they can not classify them as mg's. Atf has of course appealed and requests that they not be forced to return stolen/confiscated frts in 30 days because they can't feasibly do it. I have no doubt that atf is not even working on trying to get that court order done. I mean who's gonna force them to follow the federal court order?

Even if atf did as they were told, and if frts ended up in every home- they will be coming for it legislatively before too long. Binary triggers will be on the bill too. Both parties would put the ban on the president's desk, and either president would sign it into law.

So long as you know there is a 99% chance of that happening, you can make an informed decision.
