Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is back on the field this week after missing Week 12 because of a concussion and his recovery comes just in time for a game that Freeman knows the Falcons need to win if they want to make the playoffs this season.

A loss to the Buccaneers this weekend would extend Atlanta’s losing streak to five games and drop them to 6-6 while the Bucs rise to the same record. The Bucs would also hold a tiebreaker over the Falcons after sweeping the two games between the teams, both of whom are behind the Packers and Seahawks in the playoff pecking order right now.

“It’s almost like win or go home right now,” Freeman said, via the Tampa Tribune. “You know you have to put it all on the line, because they’re going to play us physical and hard. So, we have to come in with the same mentality, that this game could determine our season.”

The Bucs have the same feeling heading into the game, with offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter saying that “it doesn’t take a brain surgeon” to figure out that this is essentially a playoff game for the two teams well ahead of the official start of the postseason.
