****Atlanta Falcons**** And The NFL In General

They are going to have to make a play. There just are not a bunch of pass catching TEs around and for the same money, he can go back and catch passes from Payton.
Not only is he a good pass catcher, dude can block as well....which is a HUGE plus/valuable trait IMO.

Tamme is as splashy move as The Birds can afford.

Like I said at the beginning of free agency, The Falcons cannot afford to shop at Neiman Marcus and need to look more at Costco. Tamme is a sold value priced TE and the cap space is there to front load a contract for him.

Falcons Add More Depth to OL With Smith

The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have signed offensive lineman Jared Smith.

Smith, 6-4, 302 pounds, was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round (241st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of the University of New Hampshire. He spent part of the 2013 season as a member of the Seahawks practice squad before suffering an injury.

Smith was waived prior to the start of training camp in 2014. The Pennsylvania native played in 42 games as a defensive lineman for the Wildcats while totaling 129 tackles (59 solo) 12.5 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Smith was named an All-American by College Sports Journal and The Sports Network as well as an ECAC D-I FCS All-Star and a member of the All-New England team. He lettered in football at Greencastle-Antrim High School where he was an all-conference and all-state selection.
