Atlanta FFL

Can someone please recommend an FFL in the Atlanta area that I can use to ship pistols to another state for a reasonable fee - I'm moving.

what you need to do is find a recieving FFL that will accept your tansfer in the other State..You can ship them UPS yourself

Why are you shipping it? Are you mailing it to yourself?

Yes, I am mailing them to myself. My read was that UPS and FedEX might do it, but only with next day delivery (which can be very expensive), so may be cheaper to use a FFL who would be allowed to send via ground service or USPS.

Now, after significant time on the phone - UPS and FedEx only do:

FFL --> Individual
or
Individual --> FFL

Spoke to a couple of FFLs, they will only ship to and receive from other FFLs. So basically, looking for an FFL in GA willing to ship to an individual or an FFL in AZ that will receive from an individual.

Looking at the ATF website, this is in the FAQ and perfectly legal. The problem is just the internal policies of the shipping companies.

The reason I ask is because its not illegal to mail a gun to yourself. Why would you mail a gun you own to a ffl?

But be clear.. there is no recieving of a gun from FFL to individuals...

I agree completely. It is just that UPS and FedEx are not willing to let me do it due to their internal policies. I would really prefer to not involve an FFL at all.

Yes, flying first to another country - so I cannot just take the guns with me on the plane.
