This is encouraging

That's what everyone on here has been crying about. Worried that they'll be associated with extremists. Now that that's out of the way, will the folks who were complaining about open rifle carry and unsavory groups be attending? Or was that just talk?
My point was one man's extreme view is another man's middle ground. There WILL be nut bags there by someone's definition. So who is enforcing this 'rule'. That should go well.
Go and be as persuasive to as many NOT in the choir as you can.
People will do what they will do. I'll be at work, adding to my tax bill.

Just a reminder... This country was founded on a rebellion against "authority". That is exactly who we are.

Maturity dictates a smart and well planned way of attack. Just running at the enemy isn't always the best way.

Your narrow mindedness could be a future nail in the coffin for us all.

I'm so frustrated with this stupidity that I may not even attend now. I'm sure there are plenty of others who will be there with ARs ruining this effort. Honestly I don't see how this can turn out positive with the lack of common sense and combined intellect I'm hearing from you #alnen

I train with a group on Saturdays, continuing to enhance my skillset is probably a better way to exercise my rights than to be a part of any amount of stupidity in the face of the demise of our rights.

I still don't think rallies are effective for rational arguments such as this, but I will be attending and encourage others to show up dressed like you dress for work carrying like you do everyday so that we can show the open carry rifle crowd is a minority. Use peer pressure to keep reckless, unhelpful behavior in check.
These things are SO wrought for sabotage....

Though i like the idea as other have mentioned the weirdo in full camo open carrying his High point is the reason I cant go to this potential congregation of Mall ninjas giving the rest of us normal folks a bad image.

Even if there was only 1 person in the crowd like that the media will surely make that person the visual idea of the event.

Hoping for the best, but i know better.....

Our numbers need to be seen. Period.
However, the tactics need to change. We all despise the anti-gun mentality, but its time to start making allies out of our enemies. I'll try to have an intelligent conversation with an anti every chance I get. You'd be surprised how many times you'll hear 'gee, I never thought of that'.
Shouting worn out slogans and name calling gets absolutely nothing done, except for causing everyone to hate each others guts even more.
So get out there, make your voice heard, and if you're approached by an anti, smile, and appeal to their much beloved 'open mindedness' by offering them a trip to the range for some hands on firearm education. If that fails, then that's when you say 'ok pussy, we tried'.

Oh come on, don't be like that! It would hurt us if you didn't come and bring your friends.

I don't understand the narrow mindedness or lack of common sense comments, but that's ok. I think allowing all types of firearms owners to attend in whatever they are comfortable with is pretty open minded. As for common sense... Maybe I do lack it because all of these common sense gun laws being talked about don't make ANY sense to me.
