I will make every effort to attend this. In years past I may have agreed with the conceal carry only crowd, but eff that. The AR15 is as symbolic as ever today, and I will be toting one in lieu of a sign with a cute phrase scribbled on it.
Hope to see you there.Well, now that is a discussion about whether OC is a good idea at all, but that's a different thread. Why would you carry any differently than you do every other day?
I don't think we've ever discussed it before.Well, now that is a discussion about whether OC is a good idea at all, but that's a different thread.
... and influence politicians. The more radical we appear, the easier it is to dismiss us.Right. You aren’t marching to influence gun owners, you are marching to reassure soccer moms.
"OC will not be seen by the public the way we would understand."Because it is about political public persuasion. The majority of America is afraid of guns and people with them. We are odd, different, and easily made to be something we are not. A ton of people OC will have the manipulating media moguls and politicians showing pictures of groups of OC people and they will be saying, "Do you want this everywhere you go? " And the scared public will say "No Way!!"
Its about Perception. OC will not be seen by the public the way we would understand.

We need to put some peer pressure on Bubba not to be an asshole.I agree, but limiting our behavior because of what Bubba might do defeats our purpose and plays into the leftist hands
Can we keep this thread on track? The last thing I want is to devolve into an open carry vs ccw **** measuring contest. You are free to do either if you come, and even if you don't. That's the beauty of freedom.
"OC will not be seen by the public the way we would understand."
And it never is.
