Atlanta Pro Gun Rally 4/14 EDIT: Permit pulled, legal rally is off...

We should all be doing every bit of that, and bless you for it.

As far as protest go. Think about what those kids have done in one month. Corporations and businesses are changing, the NRA looks evil, and the AR is made out to be something its not, simply because they march and say it over and over. They can't even define an assault rifle, yet they've made huge leaps forward in persuading the public.

People in mass have always made a difference. History has shown that Governments have fallen by the mass demonstration of their people. Only a couple decades ago, the Serbian President Milosovich was thrown out of office without a bullet shot, by the protest of his people.

Not a good comparison. Miloshevich was a Yugoslavian communist dictator, hiding under the title of a Serbian president that he stole in numerous elections. Free people of Serbia protested for 11 years to take him down. We started on 03/09/91, and he brought tanks out... Took us 11 freaking years to get rid of him and communism... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_protests_in_Belgrade

I haven't received any info from GCO whether they are or are not supporting this event. Has anyone else? As others have stated, I would not put it past the anti-gun groups to organize this kind of event in order to trap a bunch of honest gun owners in a no-win situation. By that I mean, knowing there will be armed supporters there, they send in a bunch of antagonizers throwing piss bombs and fists in order to get a few people to fire on them and show just how dangerous and deadly gun owners really are. I know it sounds crazy but we are dealing with a bunch of radical nut jobs that will go to any extreme and you have to think outside of the box.

I hope I am wrong and it is an event organized by folks with the right intentions and produces positive results.

Are you Serbian? If so I'm sure you know tons about it that I wouldn't know. I do remember when all that happened. I've followed politics for the last 30 years. I'm sure it was a great day for the Serbian people and nation.

Well, my point is just that people protesting make a difference. I only thought of Serbia because it made an impact on me to watch it happen from a far. I just pray our country doesn't lose control to factions only slightly less than the dictator that controlled Serbia all those years ago.

What most of these kids don't understand is that Socialism is only a level away from Communism. The Democrats are so far to the left now, they are practically knocking on the door to that horrible past.

The fact is we're not monolithic, and the press will invariably pick out the HiPoint carrying neck-beard as the people representing 'gun owners'.

More importantly... Has anyone ever heard of these guys before?

It's easy enough to put up a very amateurish FB page and web site, but it's another to organize, publicize and coordinate a large (or even small) rally.

Bloomberg has a nationwide team handling these logistics. I'm dubious that any group that didn't exist last week will be able to even come close to pulling this off.

The facebook page went up on march 13th and they want to have the rallies april 14th?

I emailed jerry Henry and Kelly Kennett a few days ago, but haven't heard anything back yet. I've actually been in discussion with them the past few weeks about unifying local grassroots groups across the country, so this would be a great (albeit tough) first challenge for them to get involved with.

This is the first I've heard of this. I'm sure someone has already made this assumption but this seems a bit fishy to me. The website and FB page were launched just last month and there does not seem to be a "Make a Donation" link anywhere. Groups like this always want your money. Something just doesn't add up to me. ODT thoughts...
