Atlanta Pro Gun Rally 4/14 EDIT: Permit pulled, legal rally is off...

I understand that The organizer Chris Hill has a band called Confederate Celtic scheduled to play. (Why is there a band?)Between that and the fact that on the organizing Facebook page Mr.Hill told everyone to disregard me when I voiced the opinion that the open carry of rifles was going to be counterproductive. Leads me to worry that this may not go well.
If what was said about no permit without the GSP is correct. And if the GSP requirements are consistent with other rallies that have been held holding a rally with no permit and causing a disturbance makes us the same as aftifa and will be headline news for a month.
If people feel like they just have to have a rally.These rallies should have had more time to organize. And local organizations like Georgia Carry should have been approached to organize it not the leader of a 3% group who is advocating open carry of rifles and arranging entertainment (again why is there a band?) that will stir controversy.
Everyone knows it does not matter what happens at a rally only how the media covers it. They will run clips of angry white men in full kit carrying rifles and waving Confederate flags. Even if there is only one.
Rallies are a propaganda tool used to create an emotional reaction and call to action. We do not need to make an emotional appeal. We have reason and law on our side. We have had our victories in the courts and the ballot box. Rallies are just an opportunity to make a mistake.
I hope I am proved wrong.

Says our ex and current LEO/Military Security wont do! Wants us to pay for 28 of his officers at $40 an hour for 6 hours min. We will not be extorted or pay to play for our rights to peacefully assemble. If all fails we will take to the streets. In the current enviroment and conversation about guns, we as the 2a community have to play the game. The media is out for us and having a rally with confederate flags and wearing full kit will not help us or our cause. We have to get smart and protect our rights in the public eye, which is carzy but it is where we are at this time. My humble opinion

That is a workday for me. If liberals were required to work for food and housing, they couldn't be out creating chaos so often. Sooner or later the money will end, and the real riots ensue. They are going hard for the guns before that happens, in order to protect the moochers.

Well...I mean the first amendment doesn't state "shall not be infringed" so making a rally cost prohibitive is fine I guess. The lefties have huge pockets in the shadows. Freedom isn't free, and you can't expect the cops responsible for capital security to do this for nothing. They would charge any group applying for a legal permit the same. Same deal as getting a permit and having enough porta-potties on site.

This is sounding a lot less like a 2A rally and more like a 'militia' rally. I guess the 'America for Americans' tagline should have made that obvious, but I wonder how many of the legal black gun owners in ATL, one of our most important demographics in this area, will not even bother when they see the rebel flags and the posters for a band called 'Confederate Celtic'.

I'm sitting this one out. I think we're better served by calling our reps once a week (which I've been doing for the last couple of months now). This has all the makings of a PR disaster.

The group organizing this is called The National Constitutional Coalition of Patriotic Americans (NCCPA). How much you want to bet the media latches on to the similarity to NAACP and makes it all about race? At any rate, the sketchiness of this "rally" seems to counterproductive to the real cause we all feel strongly about. It will be interesting to watch the news reports afterwards.
