Attacked by red tailed hawk tonight.

I had a red tailed hawk fly into a nearby tree, then got closer and closer until it was about 15 feet away.
I watched it like a hawk...lol.
After watching me like a hawk it decided To fly at me then veer off within three feet of me.

It did this about five times with the last time a straight down dive Bomb from above me in my tree.
It got within about one foot and veered off for good.
Was Kinda fun.

Nothing beats the big azz owl that did that to me in the dark.

The boards of prey are spectacular from Screech Owls to Eagles.

I had a red headed wood pecker do the same thing to me @ Redlands. It seemed at the time to be the biggest I have ever seen. I actually stood up and started waving my arms to make it veer off.

Sure see some neat things sitting in the woods. I've had an owl and some hawks get in close to check me out but never something like that. Cool story.

I've had some small birds dive bomb me because I was next to their nest. Would have been cool if I wasn't in a tree stand with no safety strap.

Yeah I wanted to get out my phone but didn't want to make movements to scare it off.

I was dressed in full leafy Camo with a leafy head covering.
The only thing exposed were
My eyes and he kept peering right at them.
I Was just Making head movements to keep my eye on him when he flew to another
Position.
I didn't think it Would Make contact With me so I didn't freak out and flail my arms.

You were probably in its tree. Your camo isn't going to fool a hawk. It could probably count your eyelashes.
