that reminds me, i need to renew my autrey's range membership... i don't buy firearms there nor do i use their transfer services, just their range use. dunno why you are boycotting them because of their high transfer fee. it's like different pricing on grocery stores. some items are higher, some are lower. no need to boycott them because they didn't offer the buy two get one free like the other grocery store. not all stores pay the same bills, licensing, taxes, etc... total cost of business ownership differs by location.

feel free to boycott them. they don't make their bread and butter on transfer fees. most online shops don't stock their products. if i remember my retail biz correctly, they purchase the order from a warehouse. they have a much lower overhead than a gun shop that stores their own products.

autrey's prices are much higher, but i don't see them closing down any time soon. it's your choice not to purchase. boycotting? sounds abit extreme.

Not to me. I was quoted something... they flipped the script and lied to me. They should stick to their word. Customer service is everything to me. The way they went about it was wrong. All wrong. I manage a business where poor customer service closes your doors. They will learn their lesson one day.

No money to burn, but been around the block enough times to know whats important to me. I would rather be happy than right, and I'll spend my $$ with honest people who treat me right......and I will stand up for those same guys when I feel they are being smeared unjustly. I am satisfied with what you have taught me tonight, so I am going to bed happy, and you can be right. Good luck with your build, I would love to see pics when complete as I am considering a Spikes lower for my Spikes middy upper.

I would not say they are being smeared unjustly but I do respect your opinion. Im not saying anybody should do anything. If you wanna shop there cool! More power to ya. Im just saying I wont.

I don't have a dog in the hunt either way here, but I will say this: $25 transfer fee seems to be the median rate at most places.

These transfer fees are just extra money coming in...log the weapon in, log the weapon out. Wow. They just made $25 for a service. No overhead, shop hasn't spent a dime (except for the ink pen) and there's $25 in thier pocket.

Doing free ones is generous--no doubt the ones that do the freebies are doing that for the expected customer loyalty...but to a functioning shop, any piece of money they charge for a transfer is pure profit.

Wheather $50.00 is a reasonable fee or not is not inportant. What IS a fact is the gun shop in question has turned a customer into someone who will never spend any money with them again. A lot of people are reading this and most will never post their opinion. I guarantee you that some folks have decided they will avoid the shop too. But NO ONE has thought "gee, maybe I'll go see these people". It's never good for any business to get this kind of press. Just my opinion and it's worth what you paid to hear it.

IF 50 dollar transfers are what it takes to keep the doors open... then why is it some people charge 25, or 10 or NOTHING. Explain that one to me please.

Idunnoo...pure stupidity?

I know how making a profit works man. Im not stupid. There is a difference between making a profit and price gouging

Here is a good one, GOUGING? Was there a natural disaster and those evil poeple were the ONLY one able to transfer your weapon? LOL....you cannot use the word GOUGE for an item or service you CHOOSE to partake in. Water, ice, food, gas and shelter in a time of national emergency are the type of things you can rant about gouging.

So you didn tread the entire thread? You seriously think an FFL is free? No overhead, no accounting costs, no document storage costs, no liability insurance fees? You guys crack me up.
