background check: delayed

my g/f tried to buy a gun at the show today at the expo center and the background check came back with a result of delayed.

does anyone know what this means?

she bought an ar lower a couple months ago without a hitch.

It means just that... delayed. It happens. They do random checks on people daily. So she got picked. They have a few days to call back about it. If they dont the gun shop can just release it. She has bought firearms before so dont worry about getting denied.

Seems like it used to happen to me always on a sunday, midday saturday and close to closing time wherever i was at. GWL stops most of that though

After 24 hours I think they can release it. Happened to me a few years back on an AK lower

No it cant, with a gwl they dont make that phone call, the licence is your backround check. You just have to fill out the form so they have it on record if the atf ever audits them. It only happens if the dealer is stupid and doesnt know the law, in which case find a new one
