Backyard Chicken Farmers

Don't forget tomorrow. I know for a fact i will have at the very least 3 breeders there with chicks. Possibly more, definitely will be some adult birds available also.

Just picked up a couple of giant pekin ducklings along with a couple of light bramah pullets. I hope i dont regret the ducks

Make sure you either have a halfway house for the pekins or a lamp in your coop. Those appear to be 1-2 weeks old and by 4-5 weeks they will be drastically larger and can hurt the chicks running around in a brooder.

thanks for the info i will be sure to separate them from the chicks before there too big. I have always kept a few hens around for eggs but this will be my first experience with ducks. I hope it goes well

I sold two ducklings last night but before that I had 1 week, 2 week and 4 week. The difference in size is incredible in such short time. Brahmas and pekins will be very close in size as adults though both around 7-9 pounds.
