palmettomoon palmettomoon ‘s post about Manwich got me wanting some sloppy joes. My lovely wife found this recipe on Pinterest and we gave it a try today. Pretty darn good!!

1 1/2 lb ground beef
8 slices bacon
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 tbls Worcestershire sauce
1 tbls Dijon mustard
1 cup dark beer
1/2 cup beef broth
2 cups cheddar cheese

chop bacon into 1/2 inch pieces and cook. Remove bacon pieces from pan and save 2 tbls grease.
return grease to pan, add ground beef and cook till done and drain grease.
add all ingredients except bacon and cheese and cook (at a simmer) till sauce thickens well.
add bacon and cheese and stir slightly just before serving.
makes 8 servings

I forgot to make pics until after we had eaten so this is what was left after making 6 sandwiches.

I’m going to try this thanks. Any other ideas involving ground beef?
