Also I originally tried to paracord the entire wire, but then the stock won't close enough against the receiver to lock into place.

Where’d you get the idea on fabbing the cheek weld?
I have the original gas tube and I have a slotted upper handguard so I can change the look a little bit when I feel the need to change things up.
I really like that one!
That one is an arsenal 107 dressed up with Romanian furniture and a cheese grater upper handguard.
