Baiting Game

Yep. We have a deer lick and corn on the back of my property. The deer raze my shrubs and bushes first always. I’ve got a bunch of damn nets over everything for years. Yard looks like hell with all the nets.
I simply don't plant anything special. I think the worst is the azaleas. They were here before we bought the place. They were planted years ago when there wasn't deer around. Everything else is hollies or wild hollies. They prune them a little when food gets scarce

Kinda what I figured.
Thankfully I have private land, I wouldn’t want to hunt around some of my old customers without a bullet proof vest lol
Yep. That and getting up at 0300 to beat someone somewhere you want to hunt only to have them hunt on top of you anyway. I own the land. If they ain't with me, they're not supposed to be there. If they are, they're going to have a problem

I don't care for baiting for many of the reasons you cited. It encourages unnatural animal movements and congregation. This leads to, as you noted, deer on highways, and the propensity for increased cases of CWD in deer, due to the fact that they congregate in one concentrated area more often. I like the idea of scouting as well. Maybe I'm old fashioned.
This and the other problem I have with it is, it's no longer hunting it's shooting. Hunting is going into the woods and scouting game trails. Finding where on that trail are good points to set. Then move to those different spots if the deer move to early or late for that position. The art of hunting has become another impatient practice. Come on guys why is this so hard to understand. Setting out food causes so many more problems that it benefits the wildlife. They get lazy and rely on that food source for nutrition and don't forage for multiple food sources. To me it goes against all that hunting is and was and how it was intended. I won't be hunting over food plots this year and I will see plenty of deer. Now wether I take one depends on if I see the granddaddy of bucks with a trophy rack. You roll the dice and see what may happen. Same thing could be said about fishing if it weren't a game of luck and skill it wouldn't be called fishing it would be called hooking.

Good luck catching a fish without any bait.

I will see many deer where I am hunting. I know the sweet spots where they move. I will take pics and post them after I go. Especially if see the trophy I am after. Baiting is the lazy way. You are bringing the deer to you as opposed to you going out and hunting for the deer.

I guess I shouldn’t use doe pee or rattling antlers either since that’s bringing them to me.

All I can say is shooting deer over a pile of corn might as well be a high fencing op. That Shyte ain’t hunting! If you have an insanely dense deer population, I can teeter on it’s practice to cull them and put meet in the freezer but it is NOT “hunting”.
