Banded Woody back from the Taxidermist

Beautiful woodie....
You said the woodie was 9 years old.

I had a conversation with a banding team member as they were netting and banding one weekend at the local park we were visiting..What I found interesting while discussing banding was he said the most banded duck in history was a mallard drake somewhere up north that was netted and banded n even rebanded and recorded 32 times!!...
He said the duck lived in a area that was banded 2twice a year and the duck was caught/banded recorded twice a year for 16years..

Finally one year he fell off the radar and was never recorded again?..
That's a crazy story! Maybe it's still out there waiting to be smacked with a 3" drylock!

I saw this story a little while ago... pretty crazy. 14 year old pintail banded in Japan. It was shot off the coast of California. Flew 5000 miles!

Great looking mounts. I would love to shoot a banded bird. A good friend and I killed a couple of woodies this morning.

The rest of the office. Complete with guitar, gator skull and long horns.... I may do a separate post on how I did the gator skull.
