Barrel cut and thread

Don't know North Metro,
I BUT Shooters Den in Watkinsville does EXCELLENT work.

I'm sure they do fine work, they should for the price they quoted me.

I have a plain Jane MK II Ruger. .308.

I wanted the barrel cut down and recrowned, that's all. I know I could do it myself, but I was willing to pay to have it done professionally.

Shooter's Den quoted me $700. He just couldn't do what I wanted, he insisted on doing a lot of work I didn't need on my second best deer rifle.

A few years ago, I could have done it for free and VERY conveniently for both of us (if you know what I mean). But not anymore. Too riskay.

This was my first bull barrel I did with a matching 17-4 stainless cap and a 11 degree crown for kicks.

I think as long as you bring only the barrel, anybody should be able to do it. The barrel isn’t considered a firearm. Has this changed?
