Bear Creek complete upper, spiral barrel, side charging $385

I work on AR's every single week, bear creek uppers are the only ones that surprise me when there's NOT an issue with them. Every single time.

And I'm no gun snob, I'm a cheap bastard too. Buy a PSA, bear creek is literally garbage, they're not even good for the money when you can get PSA at practically the same price.

Just my opinion, one poor trying to help his fellow poors out.

Apparently mine are the surprising ones.

You ever attempted to take the barrel nut off of them? Odds are they are either torque to 200ftlbs or hand tight, there's no in-between with them

Had a customer just the other day wanted me to swap out to an A2 upper on his bear creek.

I told him to watch, I bet his barrel nut is either tight as snot and gonna take a torch to get off or it's hand tight. He's like nah, I buy bear creek all yeh time, never a problem.

Take his rail off and remove the barrel nut by hand effortlessly. The next one I'll have to heat the ever loving **** out of it.

There's just no consistently with them whatsoever.

Also, when I cerakote AR's if there barrel ain't dimpled for a gas block I usually just do it for free when I reassemble, and I can tell you drilling a dimple in a bear creek upper is like a hot knife through butter.

I've never needed to disassemble one of their uppers. this is primarily because I like the handguards that come on their uppers and I've never shot out one of the barrels the use. I have disassembled uppers from some of those more expensive / more respected brands and have found barrel nuts clearly out of spec and gas blocks that weren't even close to being properly aligned. I won't mention those brands for a few reasons....I don't have an axe to grind with any AR brand, anything assembled by human hands is apt to be less than perfect, and I do not feel the need to disparage the weapons people choose to own. I like my BCA stuff. It works fine for me. If folks want to own BCA, that's great, if they don't want to, that's great too. Whatever blows their skirt up.

People forget BCA has gone through like 3 names changes in the past 15 years due to how bad their stuff was and the cloud that follow them.

Also F them for hiring illegals and then saying "we didn't know." To all the guys saying they buy BCA, how do they get a pass for this?

Better give up chicken, most vegetables, lawn care and house construction if hiring illegals is the only idiom.

Not trying to disparage anyone, just sharing my experience. And that experience is nearly every single BCA that comes through my shop has issues.
Buyer beware.
