benning px now has guns

Yeah it's legal, particularly in Georgia. AAEFS has always had that blanket rule for everything in the exchange. How do they track it? They've never done an inventory on anything I bought. I think it's more of a general disclaimer and its all based on the "honor system". Never seen anything otherwise.

Serious question here: Would it be legal for a person qualified to buy a gun on base to buy it, and then sell it to a civilian?

2 things no one else mentioned in reply to your question.
1. your treading on a straw purchase which is illegal
2. Guns sold on bx's are the same guns you buy at a gun store, nothin special about them other than affees doesnt price gouge

^^ That's what I was thinking. They can't expect military personnel to keep everything they buy forever. Seems like there will be a temptation for some people to profit off of this, so they must have some sort of plan to police the potential problem. I don't know what that plan would be though.

I agree, and I would not personally come close to being involved in a straw purchase. Just thinking.

Nooooo you cannot buy firearms from a px and sale it. You will be ucmj'd!!! You have to keep the firearm for a year before you can resale.

In america, nothing really. In america wal mart is usually cheaper than the BX anyways. Overseas however things like jeans a much more expensive out in town so people buy a bunch at the BX to sell to locals, for example. OSI and military police investigate this type of thing and will get you.

CID and MP's have nothing better to do than to get soldiers for purchases like this. You cannot buy from the PX and resale on places like ebay or gunbroker, especially with firearms, there is a one year wait period you have to obtain to resale you POF (privately owned firearm).

Where is this one year policy coming from is what I asked. Where did you find this information? I would like to look it up
