Again, Viet Nam era. Everyone knows there were major issues with the M16 at that time. Those issues have been fixed.

A lot of it had to do with the weak caliber. My father in law spent 3 tours in Viet Nam. He said at times it was useless in that jungle. He carried a Browing A5 shotgun. Sargent John Moore of Republic Broadcasting Network says you should not carry a Assault type weapon less than 30 cal. These are people with experience not just fad carriers.

I don't have a problem with adopting a new weapon, Just not the little 5.56. I'm not totally sold on the AK but for close in combat it beats the AR hands down. I qualified expert on the M16 during my Navy years.

The problem is the .223, a bad idea from day one. We build AR’s in .223, still very respectable, but for combat weapons, the .300 blackout, the 6.5 Grendel, the .308, the 7.62×39 and the .458SOCOM all have solid combat advantages.

He's talking full auto, I don't own full auto weapons.
