Best and worst gun stores in northeast ga

BEST WOULD BE CLYDES ARMORY ATHENS. CLASS 3 DEALER ALSO. BEEN DEALING WITH THEM FOR 15 YEARS ARE SO. WORST HAS GOT TO BE FRANKLINS .

Best- GA Gun Store, Foxhole and a Cherokee gun and pawn

Worst- TSG in Hoschton. I avoid them at all costs. The owner acts like he could care less if he sells you anything or not.
Not a fan of Franklins in Athens. I have been in there 5 or 6 times and it seems everyone that works there knows nothing about firearms
Can't stand Outdoor Depot either. Their prices are ridiculous

Best, well lets see. Would have to say Trading place in Monroe, Closely followed by Bullseye in Lawrenceville. Mainstreet Guns in Lilburn has a really nice place and the guys are quick to help out. Bought a XDM from them. Any eastman Gun Show. Went this last weekend and saw a Ruger SR1911CMD for $895. The absolute worst would have to be Adventure Outdoors. Three times I have gone up there and three times I have not been happy. Nothing is ever in stock, and instead of getting helped you get stared at.

Have always had great service and prices at Forsyth County Pawn in Cumming.

I was happy with them for buying, but when I went to sell some gold they were terrible.

I'll admit I'm holding it against them, because I did a lot of business there.
$1,750 worth of gold and they offered me $800 then $850, to boot they said the weight was 77 grams and it was 77.6 grams. I sold it to the Dawsonville shop the next day for 90% of its value $1,575 and there it weighed 77.6 grams too.

I may do business there again, but only if I can't do as well somewhere else.

Have only done gun deals there and they have been great to deal with both from a price and customer service standpoint.

Everyone talks bad about Adventure Outdoors but I've had nothing but good experiences with them. I generally know what I'm looking for but sometimes I'm just shopping. I've never stood at a counter more than 5 minutes before someone has come over to help me and they've been very friendly and knowledgeable. Last time I was looking for a revolver the counter guy at the S&W counter spent about 15 minutes with me showing me the different models and differences in them. I handled each gun, he was patient and polite. I bought what I wanted and the longest wait was at the checkout counter since I was buying 4 rifles and 1 pistol that day so that took a little while plus the counting out of the cash. I know they can be crowded and harried but never been rude to me. I'll keep shopping there since my favorite two gun stores, Gables and Stoddards in Douglasville often don't have what I want in stock but I do check with them first. Oh and I emailed and asked Adventure Outdoors if they had a used rifle I was interested in, I got a response back the next day and when I went in it was behind the counter with my name on to check out. I bought it. Again the service was great.
So, I think folks are maybe a little too hard on AO and dog them out too easy.

The one store that I'll never buy another gun at is Walmart. They have the neat computer terminal where you fill out the form but once the paperwork is filled out it prints out about 14 pages and 3 different people have to look at it before they approve it and then they go to the back to look for the box and you end up buying the rifle in the case that everyone has already handled and stuff then once you buy it they tape the heck out of the box and the manager carries it out of the store and once you are out the doors he hands it to you. They won't even sell you ammo for it at the same time so they are not getting any more of my money.

I don't see how, half of them only have 12 ga ammo. The one in Athens has no ammo, no pistols.
