Hey Guys,

Need recommendations on dog breeds for the family. Not to difficult to train/housebreak, gentle around the kids (6,2.5, 3 months), something i could throw frisbee with, take out wandering around the woods (extra points for something that would chase game in any way shape or form) prefer medium to large size dog. Must be long haired (deal breaker). Thinking about a dog for christmas, about a fenced in 1/2 acre backyard to run on.

Thanks guys!
Caleb

The Doberman is the best breed of dog on Earth. It's a scientific fact. :D

Go to a shelter and pick out a rescue mutt. They'll be healthier than a purebred, and they're in dire need of a good home.

Best of luck.

Old time treeing farm shepherd, Norwegian Elkhound, Finnish Spitz... I'd put some time into finding a dog bred for what you want and not necessarily have Christmas a deadline. I would tend to do lots of research and try to get one come Spring to avoid poorly bred dogs.

golden retriever if you looking to get a specific "breed" other than that, go down to the pound and get you a mutt and it will love you forever and never let you down

Doberman the best breed of dog on earth, where did you come up with this, they are also on the top 10 most dangerous dog list

x200000. Temperament depends on how you raise the dog. Take your kids to a shelter and you're guaranteed to find a perfect match.
