Best kimber .45

In my opinion, the best frame size is the Pro, 4". The easiest to carry is the Ultra, 3" and I am the most accurate with the Custom 5". I like my Pro Carry II with the crimson trace sights. I hate to disagree with BigDawg, but in bright light I don't need the laser, and use my sights. But in very low light or darkness, I have a difficult time picking up my front site. If I can have an advantage, I want it and the laser helps me acquire the target in very low light. Just my opinion, but I like the crimson trace sights on the Kimber.

I have a Kimber Custom Stainless II that I really like. It is deadly accurate and has an unbelievably clean smooth trigger, that breaks at 3.5 lbs . I carry it quite often. While I do not depend on a laser sight, my Kimber does have a Crimson Trace Laser Grip. It can give an advantage under certain conditions. I like ME way too much to give up any advantage. BTW, Crimson Trace now makes a green laser grip for a Kimber 1911 pistol (model #LG-451 for $296 MSRP) You CAN see that in bright light!!

Oh, and I'm not anti-laser for the record. I said don't become reliant on one. I see too many people developing crutches they have to lean on and not focusing on how to shoot their guns in all conditions.

I carry the Pro Shop Ultra II Raptor Stainless, night sights and have done some addition inner polishing. Also decreased the trigger pull, Love mine..Also carry a Glock 19, when on duty carry a Glock 22. With the glocks I have changed the trigger weight and added night sights, Extended mag release, and extended slide lock. Mags all have pinky extentions..With the 19 I added a Storm Lake threaded barrel with thread protector..

carried a Pro Carry 2 for years. have recently started carrying the Ultra Raptor 2. dont use laser grips, just have night sights on them. had the laser grips on the Ultra Carry and they seemed like they would be a good thing to have in the dark when you need to just point and shoot.
