Best sports car under $15k?

I'm another on the Miyata boat.. More fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow.. They shine at little tracks like little tally or for those SCCA parking lot races that I can never remember what they are called, and there are boatloads of upgrades and options for them.

My other top pick would be an older Datsun Z car with a worn out engine and tranny to swap in a 350 with a 5 speed behind it

Not so sure about the miata, you may end up leaving your wife and moving to midtown within the first year of owning it. The GTO suggestion is a pretty damn good one along with the C5 advice.
