Completed for an ODT member and BBQ competitor per his specific requests, here's the beast.
-1084 steel, differentially hardened and double tempered to 59-60rc.
-Short primary bevels with 30 degree edge, shaving sharp
-Rough/worn finish through multiple etch cycles, steel wool rub downs, and acid baths
-Exhibition grade snakewood handle scales with brass liners and pins
-O.A.L.: 14.75"
-Height: 5"
-Thickness @ spine: .200"
-Weight: $@&#ing heavy

I had a real butcher's meat cleaver years ago.
I felt like I could chop down a tree with it.
It felt nothing like what you can buy at a big box department store.
