You are wrong.I say the OP is correct. Anomalies can and do happen. Whether it be a “panther”, “puma” or “Mountain lion” wd have no way of knowing.

There is a small brood of squirrels in a part of Henry County (where I am originally from) that have solid white tails. I have a family member that knew a gentleman from church that did falconry back home, and always apparently had a healthy population of the white tailed squirrels that the falcon would bring back.Sho nuff, we have a small herd of melanistic deer that appear black-ish. Ironically, they come out after all the other deer and don’t really accomplish much.
Panther, puma, mountain lion, nittany lion, painter are all synonyms for puma concolor and there are no black ones. Never. Jaguar? Yes. Jaguarundi? Yes. Leopard? Yes. Puma concolor? No. There has never been a black puma concolor. End of story. JFC.You are wrong.
