Blade Steel

Anyone know where to buy some raw material to make a knife blade?

I'm looking into getting some 154cm steel and would like to go get some, within the North GA region, instead of having to order some online. That stuff is expensive to ship.

Any other blade suggestions are welcome.

I'm not a knife maker yet, but Dad made several that he was happy with. He had good results with an old chainsaw bar. The leaf spring suggestion sounds like a good one.
