There has to be less expensive options than Nightforce or Trijicon. Those just can't be the in only option for light duty range shooting and occasional hunting. I just can't do 1000 bucks for scope. I would have to take out a separated policy for scopes or just change my insurance carriers.
In that case, I think I'd agree. I've heard more good than bad about Vortex. I know Leupold is solid as a rock. The adjustments are spot on and the glass is good too. Plus resale is good as well. You can't beat their warranty. If I had my druthers a good ole Redfield or Nikon would be great for a rimfire. But they're not made anymoreWell for a rimfire which is where it will eventually end up it will be fine. I was going to put on my Mark ll 22 mag. after I test it out on one of the rifles that need a scope immediately. I'll just keep sending them back till I get a decent one. Or condom into an upgrade by going on the warpath about quality and internet exposure. LOL
The old Burris were good as I was told. I've never owned one. I tellya that Leupold VX II might be great for that rimfire. Thinking about it, I like the ideaSo Burris scopes and Leopold Scopes are made in the USA. So you say I will be safe buying one of these two brands?
I find myself always going back and forth between Vortex ( mainly because of warranty ) and I had a Vortex Viper PST that had super clear glass. It was a Gen l and the illumination was weak but over all a great piece. However, these days almost 85 % percent of the scopes are made overseas and mainly china. I know very little about most scopes and I ask about several in here to see if the guru's have any experience with them. However tunnel vision has a very narrow view of anything right in front of them. Hell half the scopes from Vortex are made in China or the Philippines. All of us at BMI are big fans of Vortex. I wish we could stock them, but we cannot due to the requirements of having a storefront (home-based FFL).
I loved the M-223 and the M-308. The 308 model came in at 599 with the mount and that scope was phenomenal for the money. The M-223 was great as well. I hate the went belly up.In that case, I think I'd agree. I've heard more good than bad about Vortex. I know Leupold is solid as a rock. The adjustments are spot on and the glass is good too. If you are not dialing DOPE at the range. There are plenty of good scopes under $1,000 with very good clarity, that hold zero. Even below $500.Well I am buying scopes for two different guns. I am just a range junkie so I don't need all that much scope. I looked through a Swarovski the other day and it was amazingly clear. There was a mountain about a mile away and you could see the trees in definition from that far away. The Ziess scope was the same way. Outstanding clear glass but that is what you get with a 1000 dollar plus scope. These boys around here don't play when it comes to there by hunting scopes. Bolt actions and high dollar scopes is the norm for the series hunting community. However, a couple of guys switched to Arken and do not regret the change. I wish I could get my hands on one and see what it's all about.
The EP-5 5-25 in on my saved list on Amazon. I was wondering if that was a good option. My life long friend ( well one of the four brothers ) is a straight up lights out shooter. He said his next scope was gonna be an Arken. I love the reticle in that scope and the price is right as well. The Viper HS, the EP-5 and the Maven is the three I had picked out but can't nail down a decision. I am so indecisive when it comes to scopes. I guess my lack of knowledge on them keeps me guessing. I was hoping to get a little feedback on one of those three.![]()
Arken Optics EP5 5-25x56 Riflescope Review | Optics Trade Reviews - Optics Trade Blog
Arken EP5 5-25x56 is the best MIL-MIL scope under $1000 on the market right now. It's built to high production standards with a decent optical performance. The reticle is true to clicks and the turrets are reliable. The scope is a little heavy, but this can be forgiven thanks to its other features.www.optics-trade.eu
Arken has been mentioned several times.
That all I wanted to hear basically. Just decent glass that will hold zero, have illumination and exposed turrets. That's all I need for no more than I shoot. I go to the range maybe 2 or 4 times every six months. It's a long haul to a good place and ammo cost is stupid. If you are not dialing DOPE at the range. Accurate tracking and dialing DOPE are very expensive attributes but are not necessary for most shooters and hunters.
