Bought this Captured WWII Map on ebay and got it framed.

And you can tell this is a period piece, I promise you that. You can smell the antiquity, You can feel the ink disparity in some places where it was painted heavier, you can see the folds, the type of paper etc.

OK, one thing I would like to point and I hope I am wrong! I used to study German 15 years ago and I've never been good at it but I do remember something- the difference between ß and ss! There was a spelling reform and you can read more about it online but it seems to me that the older maps should use ß instead of SS, and on your picture that's the word Masstab, on other older German maps it is spelled Maßstab, I believe the reform was around 1996 and they stopped using the ß. Once again, I hope I am wrong and you have an authentic World war II map!
