Braced pistols are being sold legally in stores. Pistols. Short barreled rifles (SBR's) are still subject to NFA rules.

As long as the lower wasn't listed as "rifle" on the original 4473.

I believe later ones had an "other" choice which would cover either way. Always build as a pistol first so you can go either way later.
