Brake clean VS Cosmoline.

Cleaned out an SKS with WD40, worked well on cosmoline.

Cheap hairspray has a lot of acetone in it if you don't have brake cleaner. Just make sure to use the cheap stuff and not the good stuff. There is a reason women's hair used to catch on fire sometimes near an open flame.

LOL, reminds me of that "My Name Is Earl" episode when Earl lit a cigarette while Joy was getting "fixed up" to go out. Quite an explosion, and almost stopped Randy from eating his "cornflakes".

The propellant in many of the cheap hairsprays is dimethyl ether (similar to starting fluid) and SD Alcohol 40-B (190 proof ethanol)

From my youth, I remember some folks in the neighborhood used Aqua Net to power their potato cannon.

Diesel fuel works, doesn't hurt plastics or rubber.

And it will remove any DNA on the item
