I had to get up on the roof and clean the gutters on the side of the back of the house today. I've been avoiding the one on the very back because I have a slight problem with being that high up on that angle. Well I decided to put some knee braces on and get up there and scrape the crap it's been that gutter for who knows how long. One of the gutter supports had backed out and the gutter was flapping on the very end. So I cleaned out the mess in the two gutters and repaired that gutters support and I had to relocate it a few inches over.

When I got off that roof I twisted my middle finger and I can't even move it now. My knees hurt so bad I can barely get out of the seat. I immediately sit down to cool off and put the fan on even though it was 64° in the house and fell asleep from just pure exhaustion. Man I'm telling you it feels like somebody beat me with a stick firewood. But hey my heart is still beating! 😀 I'm going to call this one a win.

May be time to pay someone to do it. Believe me I hate it too. Our old home used to take 30-45min to clean out all the gutters. And required twice a year. It was taking 4hrs when we left there. The process of 35yrs of aging. It was a 6/12 pitch. Our current one has gutter guards and only a 3/12. The home is twice the size of the old one. Only trouble I have is getting up and down off the roof. It only requires once a year. I sweep the valley out and walk the roof to check the shingles. Almost not worth mentioning.
Feel better soon

Thankfully my house is on a slight gradient and there's a deck out front. I can crawl up to the first roof just fine and clean it out. The back roof is a a lot steeper but you can access it from the first roof. I looked at it tonight and for the first time in 6 years I thought well hell I can get on that and do it. So I suited up and began. There was leaf sediment I'm talking compost in that gutter. Thanks a good Lord I don't have to use a ladder to get up there because Isaac's third law of motion at my weight is not in my favor.

Nobody had lived in this home for 20 years before I got here or more. We were paying a buddy of mine up here that mows my lawn now to take care of the lawn service and the gutters. I got to scraping and there was 1 inch thick compacted compost inside that gutter underneath the newly fallen debris. That's what took so freaking long was scraping out all that crap. My yard has a bunch of trees so they have these little cone shaped mesh things in the downspout keep the crap from going down there. This one the downspout was full of green moss and totally compacted. It took 5 minutes just to clean that thing out it's the size of a baseball.
