I recently purchased a motor guide x3 foot control trolling motor for my 18 ft Lowe roughneck. I was pulling up to a dock and hit the from of the trolling motor on the dock. The top panel / housing broke off. This is just the plastic cover on top that shows you where your going when you use the foot pedal. All electronics on it still work but without this top cover its useless. I'm hoping I don't have to get a whole new motor because of this. If anyone knows where to get a replacement piece or any tips on what to do help is appreciated. Here is a picture of what broke off this top piece

No you don't need a whole new motor, just that piece.
I broke one years ago and needed that top piece and the gear under it and bought them online.
Where? I don't recall, but put your Google fu to work and you'll find it.
It was an easy fix.

^^^what he said

and if you don't know which way your trolling motor is pointing without it, you're not spending enough time in your boat!

Oh by the way I did screw up and put the top cover on backwards, lol.
(I figured that out pretty quick!)
Watch for that.....
I'll watch out for that if I can find the part I'm having trouble finding it on google you would think it wouldn't be to hard to find
