Just starting to build a bug out bag. Is there any where I can go buy a back pack with most of what I need in it already prepared with good quality stuff?

Has anyone ever bought pvc pipe and used this to bury somewhere with survival stuff, cash, bullets, gun, etc. How long will these things last underground? If you sealed cash in a vacuum sealed plastic bag (like food you would freeze) would it be safe for a long time in that bag inside the pvc pipe and buried? Is there some kind of preservation stuff or chemicals to put in the pipe to make your items last longer?

As you can see I'm a novice. Just starting to learn this. Thanks for your advice.

If you go to buy something already pre-packed it wmight not have what you need. Everyones needs are different. You'll need to consider yourself and any other members of your family unless you're single. Do you have any special needs or requirements like meds for chronic illnesses.
Find a good Army Navy store that sells the old type Alice ruck sacks, get an LBE (load bearing equipment) aka webgear and canteens, ammo pouches, compass, GOOD fixed blade knife or good quality large locking folder.
You can get one of the new vest they sell that has all the poouches, pockets and holster already attached. Any GOOD back pack or even book bag will work as a bug out bag.
Plasn on bugging IN because if SHTF, honestly, where is everyone going to go ? The highways and roads will fill up awfully quick, those mountains will be full of redneck condos.

Hypothetically if one were to seal a gun underground, it should be packed in grease and wrapped in plastic. A section of tube 10 ft long buried, with the items at the bottom attached to a rope would prevent unwanted detection. Such as a metal detector.

I think you would be better off building one up yourself .. You know exactly what you have and where it's put .. Plus you can equip it for you and your family needs .. You know what you need more than a pre packed bag

Feel free to stop by and check out either of our locations. We have developed our own kit that works well as a starter kit. We looked around at available kits on the market and just couldn't find anything we liked that was made with quaility items at a price we thought was reasonable, so we put together the kit below which has become a very popular kit and now we cannot build them fast enough!

We also carry some smaller kits produced by some other manufacturers, but I would encourage you to come and check us out as you might find you want to just start your own kit from scratch. We provide everything you would need to do so!

Burying a PVC Cache is tricky because you end up spending a bunch of money in all the fittings (Unless you want to glue both ends shut and knaw your way in there). Personally what ive found that works for me is to go by construction sights and pick up old concrete cure barrels or to food distributors and pick up the food grade barrels from them. This is a better option because you can fit more stuff in them, and they are suitable to hold food in. (just keep it packaged and away from the barrel).

Toss some "hot handz" hand warmers in the barrel and whola instant O2 absorber.

Prepackaged kits have a place but you still need to practice with everything in the kit and tailor the gear to fit your needs and knowledge. the more stuff you carry the slower you move....ergo lest distance traveled. So get your Kit together, and take a trip out and see if you can live out of the bag for a weekend.
