Built an AR for Dad (wanted to share)

That's awesome, good on ya sir! I lugged a box of parts down to Florida last trip and let my dad pick the parts he wanted and we built one together for him. Topped it off with a Leupold Scope and brought him a couple 30 cal cans of home rolled loads and he had such a great time. I think he was amazed that 1) it didn't just explode when he used it, and 2) that it was super accurate and easy to shoot.

My son and I made this last year. Great memories. He'll inherit it one day. I'm finally breaking it in.

My dad has been a great man all these almost 74 years of his life. My mom passed in April and they made it to the 52.5 years married mark. I have been keeping him busy so he doesn’t mourn himself to death. It’s an adjustment for all of us. Mom was a believer in Jesus and I was privileged and honored to officiate her funeral.

I started to build dad an AR last year. I finally finished it and we broke it in right. Dad is a bolt gun and shot gun kind of guy but loves the build. ODT has been a great resource for us for almost 10 years. So many good people on here and just wanted to share some positivity in this negative culture. Thanks for listening!

So sorry about the loss of your mom. But, you're doing a great job keeping your dad engaged in life. God bless.

Sorry for your family's loss. In these times it helps to know that your loved ones are in a better place. Good for you on that build and spending time with him. I've been going though the same thing with my Wife's and my parents as well
