Bullet in the barrel!

I've never had a squib when shooting my Shield. My Shield is only up for trade because I have started EDCing my Glock 17.

The same Glock 17 that I posted about having a squib round in awhile back. Guess what? I never sent the G17 back to Glock after I had that squib. I simply cleared the squib, and carried on with my range trip. Now that same G17 is my EDC and I trust my life with it. Crazy huh? I guess I just like to live on the edge. LMFAO!

Trust me, my getting rid of my Shield has nothing to do with the fact that you can't tell the difference between a gun malfuntion and an ammo malfunction.

You may want to make me an offer on mine though, because S&W is going to have yours for awhile. LOL!

Maybe you should take it to Glock...clearly something is wrong with it since it had a squib.

Careful guys, you'll end up in the pompous arrogant asshole category with ME.

Ah hell guys, if the OP will feel better about sending the pistol back, what harm will it do? Although I'm 100% sure that it was nothing but a squib load, there is nothing wrong with him sending it back and getting it checked out to ease his mind. I believe the way he's talking that he would always have doubts about the S&W if he doesn't.

Op had legitimate questions...and there is NO WAY the internet "experts" here know for sure what is going on with his gun/ammo. You have not inspected the gun or the ammo...so you are all guessing. Yes, they might be educated guesses....and yes you might be right. But that is no excuse for the rude behavior. Hell, if I had two failures with two different kinds of factory ammo I'd probably send the gun back too if it was free. Why not?
Mostly, I just don't like bullies or know-it-alls. They run in packs and usually are just kids who got pushed off the sliding board in 1st grade and never grew up.
Grow up guys...if your advice is not completely and unquestionalby followed it is not an attack on your person or reputation. Be respectful of fellow members...and don't demand blind obedience to your advice.
I'm gonna laugh my ass off if Smith sends him a new gun because of slide/ejector/forcing cone/firing pin or whatever problems the gun could have.
Personally, I think all you experts should buy his gun for whatever he paid for it since you are so sure nothing's wrong with it.:pop2:

I will not buy his gun, But I will put a thousand rounds of quality ammo through it if you and him buy the ammo, just to prove it wasen't the gun.

I am too, because it will mean these two are now working in the service dept at S&W.

Squibbs are basically impossible to be a firearm related problem!
its pretty simple either the weapon is operating well enough to pop the primer or its not!
if its not working well enough to light off the primer then you get a click!
nothing lodged in the barrel as the bullet is still intact!
IF it lites off the primer, the primer lights off the powder then the projectile exits the barrel.
Now in the bullet performance, IF the primer lights off and nothing happens except the projectile jumps the case and lodges in the barrel then it either has a very low flash bad primer (almost never) or it has bad (old/wet?) powder and will not ignite or there is no powder in the case, in very rare occasions it may be so under powered in powder that also cause this, but again its usually the case has no powder in it at all.
