Buyer welches based on text messages

I assume that if someone welches on a deal when the meet was arranged via text messages that the negative feedback will not stick.
It was a new user with no feedback.
Am I correct about the texts being worthless for proof of a Welch, even if I can show proof of the texts?

Had the same thing happen a while back...I left a (-) feedback and then the Welch left a Neg on me...His was removed and I had to work a little to get mine taken off...

I always arrange all aspects of the deal on PM and once that is established I swap over to text for day of meeting comms.....
