California Board Approves ‘Toilet-to-Tap’ Plan

Well they keep eatin those smart pills, but they seem to keep gettin the same results......
On the topic of pills, there's no way that CA has water treatment capabilities to filter out all the pharmaceuticals that end up in raw sewage. That would be a hard pass for me.

I could be wrong, but didn't Gwinnett County start a similar program years ago?

Be happy you don't live anywhere near DC... "Treated wastewater effluents are discharged into the Potomac River watershed at multiple points across the basin, which encompasses Washington, D.C. and parts of Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland."

In other words the water flowing down the Potomac has been used by a human or two or three before it is drawn out and used by people living in DC and south of DC.

Everyone that is served by a municipal water treatment plant should at the very least filter their drinking water through an NSF certified (certified for health effects) point of use drinking water filter.
