Camping scare stories.

This story was inspired by @Control for Smilers story about his dream and is one of the freakiest things to happen to me in the last couple of years.

About a year and a half ago I was sick after getting a tattoo that got infected and was taking some pretty powerful antibiotics.

For context, I was married for 23 years, lived out in west Paulding county during that time, got divorced in 2018, eventually met a great girl and moved into a house in Dahlonega in 2021.

Anyway, I'm running a fever so I don't go to work and I have this dream that it's 9-11 and I'm me on the day that happened, I was doing a service call, got done just after 8 am and get in my truck. I crank it and wsb comes on talking about a plane maybe crashed into something in new York city. Which is what really happened that day.

All of a sudden this crazy looking dude with a white beard and white hair that looks vaguely familiar swings up into the passenger seat. He immediately starts talking and says "Listen man, I know this seems crazy right now but I'm you from 23 years in the future. I've GOT to tell you some things. NOTHING is the same after today. People born later on will have no idea what it means to be from here. Also, 2008 is devastating. There's also a pandemic but don't listen to the hype, you're fine. When ....

This is where it gets weird.
When I wake up, I have no idea where I am. I wake up as 2000 me, not 2023 me. I wake up naked in a room I don't recognize. I sit up in bed and am looking around and am starting to panic.
Where am I? Where the **** are my kids? There is a big brown dog next to my bed that I don't recognize but he obviously is friendly to me. I look at the table next to my bed and actually recognize my pistol I've had since the mid 90s. It's a g26 if you're wondering. The thing next to it I absolutely don't recognize it as a phone. I'm in a state of terror like I've never experienced before.

I get up and go look out the front door and don't recognize anything including the vehicle out there.

I start hearing this sound, I ignore it at first but it keeps happening as I explore my surroundings.

I finally followed the sound back to the room I woke up in and see the rectangular thing that was next to my gun making noise and vibrating. I looked at it and it says Josh on it. Joshua is my oldest son.

I managed to hit the X enough times it answers.

I hear " Dad?"

I pick it up and nearly scream "Joshua!?"

He immediately is like, hey are we still good for this weekend?

And I of course freak him out by telling him I don't know where I am. He thinks I'm having a stroke or something.

I start asking questions about where the girls are and where the **** is Tracey (my ex wife)

He starts filling me in but I can tell he's seriously concerned I've blown a gasket.

Over the next few hours my memory came back but it still felt like I was trying to be someone I wasn't for a couple of days. It was weird af.
what in thee hell...........

1972...I was 12 and I had been to the movies to see The Legend of Boggy Creek. Cheesy scary Bigfoot movie. Next morning I went hunting with my Dad. He dropped me off at my stand and headed off for his. Pitch black and every sound was Bigfoot coming to get me. I hear something coming sneaking through the dry leaves. At this point the .30-30 is cocked. And then came the scream! Bobcat! Once I re-swallowed my heart I calmed down and felt foolish. But for a minute there I knew it was over for me. Never saw the cat but I had heard them before so I know that's what it was. But I sure felt better when the sun came up. Damn scary movie got to me!
