Can anyone help me id this

The only markings are 57 and 51. It appears to be a copper case with some type of coating on it. Thanks in advance Richard

If I had to guess, I'd say 7.62x54R, likely the heavier 150+ grain stuff, not the light 147-148 grain stuff.

Edit - it's steel case. Picture of the headstamp will probably be more useful

7.62x54r or maybe 7.62x53r but very unlikly its a 53r

Any pic of the headstamp itself? Placement of the numbers is critical to id the arsenal and other info

I'm betting 7.62X54R. Corrosive, copper washed steel case and steel jacketed bullet. Do the magnet test.

Here's a pic of the head. The numbers are actually 71(top) and 57(bottom). And it is magnetic.
