Canik (?)

I'm curious on how necessary that recall is anyway. From what I can see it's just a pair of slightly beefier springs.

That being said, I'd guess new production should already have them installed, but a call to Century might be a good idea.
How necessary is it for your pistol not to fire if you drop it? Lol...

And the whole language about dropping your pistol voiding the warranty. "Sorry sir it looks like your pistol was once dropped, your warranty is void."

Well, insomuch that it is an "import", there should be minimum standards of performance that it should meet. That should include it being dropped without discharging or being damaged so much as to make it unusable for its intended purpose.

The U.S Customs Inspection Service can make that decision on their own, but seem to have lost their way over the past decade.
IMHO: Lots of "marginal" imported product of all types being foisted upon the public these days.

That said, Canik does have a website where serial numbers can be checked for determining whether a specific firearm is subject to the recall ... Best to check before you buy! Hopefully, it will NOT be like EAA's Witness Recall Program where they do not keep track of those that were already processed! EAA did improve their program to require only that the slide be sent them, and they do pay for return shipping!

Honestly the whole thing caused me to reevaluate my plan to buy a tricked out SFX elite model and swear off Canik pistols entirely. Personally, I'll just stick with Glocks. Hopefully Century doesn't forget what they're working on and try to widen the magwell on anyone's pistol lol.

I forget where I saw it, but the 'fix' is only a couple of springs. It doesn't sound like the SIG issue, where one drop could set it off...From what that thread said it would take several drops to cause a failure.
