Carbon fiber barrels

Anybody have any outlook on cutting and rethreading a carbon wrapped barrel?
Picked up a howa 300win with a 26” barrel. Wanting to chop it to at least a 18” for a handier rifle setup with a suppressor.

Didn’t know if there’s a certain thing to do or follow for the carbon exterior, seems to be a standard stainless underneath.

So any help or anyone that says they can do I’m all ears and have cash lol

Your best bet is sell your barrel and buy one in the length you want. Talked to a buddy who makes carbon barrels and “most of the time” it’s not possible. Really depends on the barrel profile under the carbon.

I agree with the above. Most of the weight reduction happens under the cf. You might hit a section that’s a bit thin for rethreading
