UPDATE: I ended up with the Glock 19. I'm happy with it, it's more accurate than I expected and it's pretty comfortable to carry.
I might eventually get a G26 just to complete my Glock 9mm collection

The right choice with no question...i mean..its not a Gen 2...but its still a 19! Congrats man.

If and when you get the G26, if you want it to feel more like you G19, get the pinky extension mags. Makes a world of difference on the mags.
I intend to. Really don't like the feel of the pinky just hanging out there.
Oh I have a 1911 too, just a little big for summer CCW.

Looks like I am in the minority but my favorite carry is also the Kahr CW9. Extremely thin, good quality and 7 + 1 or 8 + 1 of 9mm SD rounds should give you a pretty good level of confidence. No, it does not have the reputation or the capacity of a 19 but it is a very good gun at a reasonable price that you won't mind carrying every day......if it ain't comfortable, you probably won't carry it.
